Bresser Full HD Colour Deep Sky Camera & Guider 1.25 (UK Stock) BNIB #4959050
Bresser Full HD Colour Deep Sky Camera & Guider 1.25. Brand New UK Stock, boxed with full Guarantee. Based around the high sensitivity and low noise back illuminated SONY IMX290 CMOS color sensor, the Bresser Full HD Deep-Sky Camera & Guider 1.25 is a veritable Swiss Army Knife of an imager. Capable of filming Planetary, Lunar and Solar targets at high frame rates (for high resolution stacking), this camera can also expose up to 16 minutes, making it a credible Deep Sky imaging system too. In addition to the camera’s main imaging capabilites, it can aslo function as an autoguider – featuring an industry standard ST-4 guiding port to connect with a wide variety of commercially available mounts. One of the main characteristics of the new back-illuminated SONY IMX290 CMOS sensor in the Bresser Full HD Deep-Sky Camera & Guider 1.25, is the high sensitivity to light which makes it possible to also capture deep-sky objects without active cooling. SONY has increased the quantum efficiency up to 77% at 533nm wavelength which is much better than many rival CMOS sensors could achieve in the past. The camera’s forte is both Planetary, Lunar and Solar high speed imaging – and long duration deep sky astrophotography as well. At full 1936 x 1096 resolution, the Bresser Full HD Deep-Sky Camera & Guider can film at 15fps and can go significantly higher than this when the camera’s resolution is reduced to the central area of the chip. For longer duration imaging, the maximum exposure time can be set to a generous 16 minutes. There is no IR cutoff filter in front of the sensor to ensure that the maximum amount of IR/Near IR wavelengths get to the chip, increasing sensitivity, particularly on hydrogen rich objects. However, when imaging the Moon and the brighter planets, the use of an IR cut filter would be recommended. This camera is provided with camera control software, though is also compatible with a large number of free and paid for camera control programs. In addition to its use as an imager, autoguiding is also a simple process with this camera. Connect this camera with the built-in ST-4 port direct to your equatorial mount and use the camera to guide the mount with many of the popular autoguiding programs available. The sensor’s high sensitivity ensures you’ll always have a suitable guide star available, even at short exposure times. An industry standard ST-4 connecting cable is also included. You can use this camera with any guiding-telescopes or off-axis-guider which accept a 1.25 barrel, 1.25 filter thread (M28.5×0.6) or c-mount adapter thread (1×1/32). This is not a stand-alone guider-camera. You always need a Windows 7 / 8 / 10 computer for taking pictures and for autoguiding. The autoguider software is not included. You can use PHD Guiding, Guidedog, Metaguide, Guidemaster (Freeware) or AstroArt, MaxIm DL (chargeable). Camera type: BRESSER GPCMOS02000KPA colour. Sensor: SONY IMX290 CMOS colour, back-illuminated.
